Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my last period thirty-five days ago. Roughly two days after my period, my partner and I had sex. We used condoms, and they were placed on at all times. There was no penetration without the condoms. In the end, we checked all the condoms, and they were all in perfect condition. He also ejaculated away from the vagina. My cycle is usually 32-37 days, so I was supposed to ovulate from the mid of the previous month. I did not check this; I just calculated it logically. However, I am now approximately four days late from my period. I was supposed to get it a week before. I took two tests last week, and they were negative. I took another three tests three days ago. Two of them showed negative. One showed a dark blue dot where the positive line is supposed to be, but I put the test under light, and it was not a complete line. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. I have slightly painful breasts. Could I be pregnant? Could I ovulate that early on my cycle, given that my cycle is 32 days plus? I usually am late. I took another test today. For ten minutes, it showed negative. Then after 20 minutes, it showed a very thin line. It looks wrong as it is not thick. Could it be because of evaporation or a faulty kit? As it appeared after 30 minutes.

Please help. I am worried.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query.

When it shows a positive line that is lighter, repeat your test after a week again. It could be early pregnancy or the default of the test. If there is penetration with a condom followed by ejaculation, there are less likely chances of pregnancy unless the condom has broken. If the condom has not broken, there is nothing to worry about. However, you might get a period. It could be stress-related or thyroid-related or polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) related issues. Since the periods are delayed by only three days, wait for a week and repeat the pregnancy test. Preferably, early morning sample urine.

I do not think you will be pregnant, as you had been intimate with your partner after three days from your period with a condom. You had tested the condoms, and they were perfect. I would suggest you wait for a week and repeat the test.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
