Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I missed my period last month. I get my period every month with a delay of four to five days, but this time it has been delayed by almost two months.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern in detail and will surely help you out.

Do not worry. I will give medicine to induce periods, but I need to know whether you have taken a pregnancy test because medications can be given only when the test is negative. Secondly, there can be several reasons for irregular cycles, for example, stress, change in eating habits, or fluctuations in weight. So if any of these are present in your case, resolving those problems will regularize your period. If you are experiencing irregular periods for a long time, then a few tests have to be done to pinpoint the exact cause. I have listed a few tests below:

1) Thyroid profile test.

2) Serum prolactin.

3) Fasting glucose.

4) Ultrasound of the pelvis.

The next course of treatment will be based on the test mentioned above. Let me know the status of your pregnancy test, and I will suggest you medications. Hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply.

I am not married, nor have I had intercourse with anyone.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In that case, I suggest tablet Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone acetate) 10 mg twice daily for five days. You will get your periods within two to three days after stopping the medication. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicines after consulting them.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
