Hi doctor,
I am on the contraceptive pill. Two months ago, I missed two pills and took two each day to make up for the lost ones. I got my period last month. I had intercourse, and the condom broke that week. Then a month after, I got my period like usual. This month I have not got my period, just a little light brown spotting was there. I had no intercourse. Please help.

Other factors besides pregnancy can delay period or make scanty periods like hormonal contraceptive intake, hormonal imbalance, dieting, stress, overwork, strenuous exercise, sudden weight gain, and weight loss. Another factor is that few drugs interact with contraceptive pills and reduce their efficiency. As you said, after sex, you had periods and have not had sexual intercourse. I suggest you get checked hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin test) to be on the safe side. Have a healthy diet, daily walk, normal BMI (body mass index), and weight. Check for cycle regularity, menstrual issues, and abnormal hair growth. If you have these issues, you must get sex hormones blood tests and a transvaginal scan. If just a foul-smelling discharge, have a high vaginal swab to check in the laboratory for sexually transmitted infections.
