Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My girlfriend has an irregular menstrual cycle. Before two months, we cuddled a week after her menstrual flow. I did not penetrate her since she is still a virgin, and I am sure I did not ejaculate in her. But she missed her period last month until now. What could be the reason?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern. I can surely tell you that she is not pregnant (if your facts are correct). There can be innumerable causes of missed periods and abnormal periods. The best way to evaluate is to get thyroid profile and serum prolactin levels (empty stomach). This will give us a very good idea of the ongoing issues such as hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia are very common causes of these symptoms. Next in the line will be FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) levels, but thats a latter issue. 90 % of patients get diagnosed with the initial two tests.

You can follow up with further reports. Treatment for the same will be started after the reports. But nothing to worry about. It is curable.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.
