Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 20 years old. I had my last period four months ago and I have a 28-day cycle. But this time it is late by six days now. It has never been this late ever. I have thin watery discharge and cramps sometimes since my expected date of periods. I am a virgin and never have had intercourse. But I got into foreplay with my boyfriend on the 24th day of my cycle including a rubbing genitals. He did not ejaculate inside or near my vagina. My hymen is still intact.

Is there any chance of me being pregnant?

What can I do to induce my periods?

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

Even a single sperm can lead to conception if no hormonal imbalance is present. Wet hands with semen could transfer drops inside the vagina but it is just a possibility. For your safety, go for one blood pregnancy test to check your pregnancy status. Strict diet, strenuous exercise, hormonal imbalance, contraceptives, sudden weight gain or weight loss, illness, and medications all can delay periods. Check for these factors as well. If pregnancy test comes negative menstrual induction could be done. I suggest you take the tablet Norethisterone 10 milligrams twice daily for five days and wait for bleeding for one to two weeks. After withdrawal bleeding, next periods could be unpredictable. Eat healthy diet, do daily exercise, and try to have a normal basal metabolic index. If you have been treated for any health issue better to solve it.

Please follow up for further assistances.

Thank you.
