Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Actually I had my periods two months back. 15 days later, I had unprotected sex but I took the I-pill on the same day. I took a pregnancy homekit test after 10 days and it came negative. Then I got bleeding for a week which I considered my periods. So, I thought I was supposed to get my periods on the same date this month but did not have any sign of them. I took the homekit pregnancy test a week back and it was negative. Why are my periods late? Can I be pregnant? Should I be worried?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

With I-pill, sometimes periods gets irregular for 2 to 3 cycles. If there is any history of sexual intercourse after last month periods, then you can do blood test serum hCG. If it is negative then no chance of pregnancy at all. You can simply wait for 1 to 2 weeks for periods. Even after 1 to 2 weeks you do not get periods, then medicine can be given for withdrawal bleeding. But if b-hCG is positive then pregnancy is there. And treatment will be accordingly.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

The last sexual incident wasone and a half months back. After that nothing happened. So can I rest assure that I am not pregnant?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If your bleeding was proper and no history of intercourse then you can simply wait. If you have slight doubt then simply do serum hCG. Things will be cleared.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
