Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My mother started showing symptoms of dementia in her early 40s and died when she was 62 years old. She had two brothers who died of it at 65 years. I am 45 years old now and waiting for a doctor's appointment scheduled for the next month. I am a registered nurse and cannot continue my job due to memory loss, confusion, and difficulty in speaking. I am on my third attempt to maintain one. I am looking for support from people going through the same thing. Can you guide me on this, and how should I save myself? Please give some financial advice too.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you consult a doctor for cognitive testing. The doctor might order magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, blood tests, thyroid hormone, and vitamin D tests to know the causes because reversible causes can be addressed early. The doctor might also refer you to support groups. Please try joining them because you are young.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
