Dental Abscess

A dental abscess is a condition of having pus collection in the tooth, gums, or bones that hold the teeth in place. An abscess occurring on the end of the tooth is called a periapical abscess. An abscess occurring on the gum is known as a periodontal abscess. It often arises from the infected cavity, injury, and damaged filling. The symptoms are tooth pain, bad breath, and fever. It is managed by having pus drainage, and in some cases, root canal treatment is done. In a few cases, extraction is done depending on the severity of the abscess.
