Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old male who has been suffering from depression past two years. The cause of my depression is related to sexuality. I used to masturbate a lot, and in one instance, I tied a shoelace around my testicles to prevent ejaculation, because of which I injured my testicles. I consulted a urologist and got my ultrasound done report showed urethral damage, and I took medicines for the same. Now, whenever I masturbate, it affects my brain, and I get into depression, so I am confused about whether I should consult a sexologist or a psychiatrist to get cured completely. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

In traumatic injuries around the scrotum, damage to blood vessels is seen. The chances of nerve injury are very rare because you are getting an erection normally. However, due to the thoughts, you are losing your erection. This is happening because of psychological reasons. Try to distract your mind. Avoid thinking about this again and again. If possible, forget about that injury. The urologist has treated the injury, and now no need to get worried.

Thank you.
