Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18 year old female. I have no idea what is wrong with me. I am sad all the time, cry for no reason, smile for no reason and hate myself. I behave oddly and do things like spilling water and even self-harm when angry. I cannot concentrate. I am unable to sleep most of the times. Please help me. I have started doing weird things. When someone scolds me, I start scratching my left hand until it becomes red.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand. You should be able to distinguish between disappointment and depression. Disappointment also brings on symptoms identical to depression, but they are short lived. Were you disappointed in the near past? Otherwise, you have a depressive disorder. Depressive disorder or depression is a neuro chemical disorder. A suicidal tendency is one of the main symptoms of depression. There is a difference between mental disease and mental disorder. Your problem is a mental disorder and not a mental disease. These mental disorders are usually treated with a combination of medicines and other means like awareness, meditation, psychotherapy techniques, lifestyle changes, etc. Take care. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
