Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I am suffering from bipolar disorder. For the past few months, I am not able to concentrate, cannot study, feel extremely sad, and start crying without any reason. Sometimes, I feel very happy and start socializing. How to get it checked?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. According to your history, it seems you do not have bipolar disorder, but you may have a major depressive disorder. Your mind defense system tries to deal with your depression by making you happy or over social. It will be considered a bipolar disorder if it is out of control. I suggest you follow few instructions, take good care of yourself, do meditation, and exercise daily, spend quality time with friends and family, avoid alcohol and abuse of any substances like cannabis, and sleep well for seven to eight hours daily. I also suggest you do certain tests like complete blood count, thyroid profile, vitamin B12, and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol-D3).

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
