Patient's Query

Hello,

I have been suffering from dizziness or vertigo for the past two months. I am taking tablet Betahistine 8 mg thrice daily for more than two weeks. I am experiencing sneezing all day and having a feel of being out of breath and physically tired. I was diagnosed with hay fever last year. Could this be connected? Should I stop taking tablet Betahistine? Can I possibly trigger my allergies? What should I do?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Tablet Betahistine may act on H1 and H3 receptors and act as a anti-allergic agents in few patients. So possibly the present symptoms may not be due to this drug. For hay fever symptoms you may use tablet Levocetirizine and Montelukast once a day for a week. If there is no improvement please consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank for your response. Should I continue taking the tablet Betahistine alongside the one you suggested. Kindly guide.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, you can continue taking the drug. However, if you observe any symptoms then consult with your physician immediately. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
