Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old and never had any medical issue. Three days ago, after running and skipping I am having breathing problem, earlier I was facing shortness of breathe (like I was breathing forcefully) then I visited a doctor they did electrocardiogram (ECG) (which is perfectly normal) then doctor checked with his stethoscope he said there is nothing to worry about he gave five days medicine, today is fourth day I am having the problem of deep breathing. It usually seems ok (no problem), but when I take a deep breath, it feels chest is not expanding correctly and not able to make a full breath. But when I hold my breath for some time then leave, then I can easily take 2-3 deep breath but after that same problem of deep breathing. I was using Minoxidil solution on my scalp for the last 20 days I was feeling very mild chest pain, and I noticed minimal swelling on my lower left chest (immediately stopped using it). The very next day, I did exercise after that breathing problem started. Now I can breathe comfortably, but when I take a deep breath, I face a problem. Is this a significant problem?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Does it hurt anywhere in your chest when you take a deep breath? If yes, it could be that you may have strained a muscle in your chest. Give it some time, and it should go away. However if there is anyone in your immediate family who has asthma or if you were ever diagnosed with asthma, or if you feel dizzy or short of breath after exercise again, better to get a chest X-ray done. At this point, unless you feel exhausted, fatigued, dizzy, or short of breath, give it a few days. But if you have any of these symptoms, better to go to the emergency room (ER) and get a chest X-ray done. I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
