Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old male and a former college football player. I retired due to herniated discs (L4, L5, S1) while doing squats. I received a discectomy about two years ago and was given multiple steroid injections, Hydrocodone, Cyclobenzaprine, Advil, and stem cell injections. I recently re-injured my back while shifting and hanging curtains in my new home and am experiencing muscle spasms (hamstring and calves), foot numbness, and painful piriformis tightness, which is affecting my ability to work. I am currently taking Ibuprofen along with ice, and heat packs.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If your are experiencing foot numbness and muscle spasm then the first thing that comes to mind with your previous history is a recurrence of a disc prolapse. You need to be examined and assessed to rule this out. You may require a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) too. Take antinflammatory and muscle relaxants to get relief in the time you arrange a appointment with you doctor.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
