Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother has been paralyzed for nine months. I have to get up at night more than once to look after her. I have to lift her from the bed and carry her to the toilet. Due to this, I have developed back pain and full-body weakness. Please suggest me medication for my problem.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your back pain is most likely due to muscle spasms from carrying your mother. The other possible cause is disk prolapse, and we must exclude it. Disk prolapse causes pain in the back that may radiate to one or both legs. Do you have pain in the legs? Avoid carrying heavy objects as this could cause or worsen the disc prolapse. I suggest Deep heat cream (Menthol and Methyl salicylate) thrice a day for two weeks and Voltaren gel (Diclofenac sodium) thrice a day for one week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
