Is there anything to worry about if I have pain in my thighs after a vaccinated dog bit me?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a dog bite on my thigh from a vaccinated pet dog 45 days back. I did not check whether my jeans were torn or had any scratches or wounds, but I still visited the doctor. In the past, I had dog bites two times, and both times, the dog was fully vaccinated. The doctor said no need for a vaccine and gave a TT injection. However, I have been having pain in my thigh for two days and am a bit suspicious. Please let me know if I need to revisit the hospital and consult a doctor again.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If the dog is a pet dog, fully vaccinated, and you do not have any scratches or visible wounds (no skin breach), I would suggest not taking the vaccine. I can only comment on the thigh pain after a local examination. I suggest you consult a nearby doctor about the same. Considering that there is no skin breach, vaccination is not required.

I hope I was helpful to you.

Thank you.
