Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have got the blood test result for Down syndrome and I would like to validate with a doctor. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I want to assure you that this test is totally normal. I will explain it. There is always a chance of chromosomal abnormalities in all the fetus. The risk is never zero. This is statistically expressed as a chance of occurrence of the abnormality. The risk category you are in is extremely low. You have nothing to worry about. Please continue taking iron and calcium supplements. Go for a level 2 ultrasound scan at around 20 to 22 weeks, that will be a double confirmation for the absence of fetal anomalies. Also, your age is lower than 30 so age wise risk is also very low for you. Stay safe. Keep washing your hands. Always wear a mask outside your home and refrain from touching your face.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

After I take supplements if I vomit the tablet comes out as well. Do I have to take the tablet again?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If this brand of iron or calcium does not suit you it can be changed. Also, if you are sensitive to medicines then you can take iron and calcium with food. Like if you have three flat breads you can take two flat breads first, then the iron tablet and the third one. It decreases the effectiveness of iron tablet but it is better than taking nothing. If this also does not help then instead of tablet you can take iron syrup like RB tone or Dexorange syrup 2 tablespoons twice a day.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
