Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My daughter is suffering from a dry cough. What should I give her please suggest?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. I would like to know how long is cough?

2. Viral infection is very common and requires symptomatic treatment.

3. Make sure the throat is not congested, which also gives a dry cough, give her warm saline gargles with a pinch of salt. Three to four times a day.

4. Ask her to avoid cold drinks and food, which can aggravate her cough.

5. You can give her syrup Benylin (Dextromethorphan) 5 ml three times a day.

6. If it is difficult for her to breathe, you can give her Levolin syrup.

7. Frequent cough and cold suggests poor air quality or poor immunity.

8. Is there any family history of asthma or allergy? If so, need to take extra precautions.

9. Improve immunity by focusing on a high protein diet, Vitamin D and Calcium supplements.

10. All medicine is to be taken with the doctors consent.

Thank you.
