Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I have water trapped in my left ear. I feel a moving water sensation in my left ear. I have a ringing sensation in my left ear after water got trapped in the ear. Will this ringing go away if my ear is dried? If the water is removed, then will the ringing sound stop? I do not have any ear pain and ear discharge. And also, I do not have any hearing loss. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please tell me from how long have you been having these symptoms? Any history of nasal or throat infection in the recent past?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Yes, I had a cold in the past few days, but it is completely resolved now. I think I got the ringing feeling after water was trapped in left ear during bathing. The ear is also blocked. But, I do not have any ear pain or any ear discharge. I do not have any kind of ear problem other than the one mentioned above. And, please tell me will this ringing feeling stop once my ear is dry? What can I do? I am worried. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As you have mentioned that all the symptoms started after taking a bath, you are probably having a fungal infection or eustachian tube blockage. Please tell me, do you have any difficulty in hearing? If ringing is not associated with any hearing loss, it is completely curable. I suggest you take a combination of Levocetirizine plus Phenylephrine twice daily and Candibiotic ear drops (Lidocaine, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole, and Chloramphenicol). Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. Get a pure tone audiometry done and send me the report. Take steam inhalation and chew a gum. This will help you with your symptoms. Avoid any excess mobile usage or earphones use.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am able to hear normal conversations. And, I do not have any problems with regular communication. I am even able to hear perfectly well when I am on the phone. When I lie on the left side, my ears open up a little, but when I lie on my back, it closes. So, that makes me feel like water is moving here and there in my ear.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In your case, the ringing is probably due to eustachian tube blockage caused by nasal congestion. I suggest you take the medicines. You will be fine in a few days. Take care. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
