Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a mild smoker and quit about ten days ago. I have enlisted my routine medical checkup values:

  1. Total WBC - 5300 cells/ cu.mm.
  2. Neutrophils - 44 %.
  3. Lymphocytes - 46 %.
  4. Eosinophils - 3 %
  5. Monocytes- 7 %.
  6. RBC count-4.73 mil/uL.
  7. Haemoglobin-13.6 gm/dL.
  8. PCV - 40.4 %.
  9. MCV-85.4 fL.
  10. MCH-28.7.
  11. MCHC-33.6.
  12. Total cholesterol - 205 mg/dL.
  13. Triglycerides - 238 mg/dL.

I have an ear infection, and I am taking antibiotics for the same. Is my blood report normal? Do I have to worry about my ear infection?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is fine. Nothing to worry about. Some variations can occur, which is acceptable. However, your LDL (low-density lipoprotein) levels are borderline high. You need some dietary changes. Please lose weight. You should have a healthy lifestyle, like avoiding fatty or oily foods. Regular exercises like brisk walking or jogging for atleast 30 minutes a day and five days a week is important. Avoid smoking and alcohol.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

Do I need to do a CBC again? Can I wait for three to four months?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, there is no need to repeat it. You may get it done after a few months if you have a fever or other symptoms.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
