Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My periods are usually 29 days apart. I had a period on the 5th this month. I was supposed to have the next period on the 2nd of next month. But, I started bleeding on 22nd itself. Could I be pregnant or has my cycle just changed?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

In your regular 29 days cycle, your bleeding has started on the 17th day. This shows that you had an early menses this time.

This condition is called polymenorrhea (menstruation occurring in intervals of 21 days or lesser than that).

There could be various reasons for early menses including stress, sudden changes in lifestyle and eating habits.

If the suspicion of pregnancy exists on your part, then do a urine hCG test (human chorionic gonadotropin) and revert with reports.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
