Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had sex with my partner before ten days. She took Postpone 72 on the next day. She had bleeding after a week for four days. Now, she has temperature and vomiting for a week. Is she pregnant?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Just do a urine pregnancy test, if you think, that she is pregnant. But mostly it will be negative. Now, she has temperature and vomiting mostly due to something other reason. It could be due to gastroenteritis if she ate food from outside. Consult a nearby physician. You may require to do CBC (complete blood count) or urine routine test. Taking oral antibiotics and Paracetamol will help. You have to consult a gynecologist to know whether she has a vaginal infection. We need to find the source of the infection and have to treat it accordingly. Mostly, it is due to a stomach infection. Drink more water. The periods can be irregular for two to three months due to the postpone tablet.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Was the bleeding not a problem?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, the bleeding is not a problem. When I-pill (Levonorgestrel) is taken, you have a withdrawal bleeding within five to ten days. It can be like that, and it is normal. She will have irregular periods due to Postpone 72 (Levonorgestrel) for two to three months. Use proper contraceptive method as routine and have safe sex, if you do not want pregnancy now.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
