Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have pain in the heart and left arm. Please explain my ECG report and lipid profile. I am attaching it. Please advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Your ECG is normal, but lipid profile is deranged. Considering your age, a likelihood of heart as a cause of pain is less. However, it cannot be ruled out thoroughly, as you have a risk factor of hyperlipidemia. I do not know about the smoking habit or your family history. The next thing is, you should undergo a treadmill test. If it is negative, then it reliably rules out the cardiac cause. For hyperlipidemia, you should be on aggressive lifestyle modification by taking low fat, oily and sweet diet. Do regular exercise every day and avoid drinking alcohol. Also, get your blood pressure checked once. It can be acidity and gastritis especially if you have upper abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, burping, increase in pain on taking food, sour water feeling in throat or chest burning. Please say whether you have neck pain, tingling numbness in an arm or any trauma to the neck. If yes, it raises the possibility of a cervical spine problem as a cause of pain.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
