Electrophoresis For Evaluation Of Sickle Cell Trait

A person is known to have a sickle cell trait where there is an inheritance of one normal gene and another gene to form sickle cell hemoglobin. These people have normal hemoglobin A, and hemoglobin S. Hemoglobin electrophoresis diagnoses the normal levels of hemoglobin and abnormal types of hemoglobin. It is usually diagnosed in newborns to see a hemoglobin disorder.
