Common "Elevated Lft" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Elevated Lft

Liver health is diagnosed with the help of liver function tests (LFT). An unhealthy liver causes elevated liver enzymes in the blood, which are detected by the liver function tests. Elevated LFT is found in alcoholism, cirrhosis, metabolic syndrome (includes high levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and obesity), hepatitis, fatty liver, and certain drugs like statins and painkillers. Various liver parameters are alanine transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, albumin, aspartate transaminase, bilirubin, gamma-glutamyl transferase, lactate dehydrogenase, and prothrombin tests.
