Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend a month before and within three hours she took an i-Pill. After a month she took the pregnancy test using a pregnancy kit. It came out negative. But she still does not get her period. Is there something to fear? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sometimes periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of some hormonal changes due to the pill. Also, there is a possibility that in the early days of pregnancy, the kit might show false results, as not all contraceptives are 100 % sure. So wait until two weeks after her due date even if periods would not come then do a urine pregnancy test again for correct results.

Hope this information helps you. You can reconnect for further queries.

Thank you.
