The veins of the scrotum called the pampiniform plexus are enlarged in a condition called varicocele. It is generally seen on the left side and very rarely occurs on both sides. Decreased sperm production and quality occur in varicocele which causes fertility problems in the affected individual. Recurrent dull pain, swelling, lump, and visible veins on the scrotum are the symptoms of enlarged veins of the testis. Varicocelectomy and varicocele embolization are the treatment methods available.
