Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had an epididymal cyst on my left testicle for 20 years. My urologist confirmed the same after a clinical examination and USG nine years back. He had advised me to leave it untreated as it was not creating a problem for me. However, I am getting pain since yesterday when I am pressing it. Is it something serious?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. A small epididymal cyst that is left untreated does not harm the body. Your pain is due to a testicular or epididymal infection. I suggest you get an ultrasound scan and physical examination as it will confirm the presence of infection and inflammation. You will need treatment with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines to relieve the pain and infection.

I hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further doubts.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Is pain a symptom of cancer? Also, can I ignore the pain as it is not creating a problem to me?

Answered by Dr. Vaibhav Vishal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Testicular cancer is mostly painless. However, I suggest you not ignore the pain, as sometimes the infection can become severe if proper treatment is not started.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
