Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 60 years old. I have had problems getting and maintaining an erection. This problem has been more prevalent in the last couple of years. This makes me worried and is affecting my relationship. I have a thyroid problem (low thyroid levels), and I am taking tablet Eutroxsig. Kindly help me with the same.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The issue can be resolved, so you should not worry too much about it.

I would like to know:

  1. When did you start taking the medications, and what are their dosage?
  2. Did the problem start at the same time when you were diagnosed with a low level of thyroid hormone?
  3. Are you on any anti-hypertensives or any other medications too?

There are plenty of options available, but you need to give me complete data about your problem such as:

  1. How much time do you take to get an erection?
  2. How long does your erection last?
  3. Do you have ejaculation in the flaccid state too?

I would like to know a rough estimate as a few more details would help me to provide you with a solution. I suggest you do not delay taking the help. This will help in solving the problem as early as possible.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I take a 50 mcg tablet a day. I do take some vitamins as well for better health.

Sometimes, I can get hard enough to prepare to have sex, but when I try to enter it in the vagina, I go to a semi-hard state (not hard enough to push my penis in for sex). I generally have ejaculation in a hard state, but I have trouble getting hard enough for that to happen.

I do get aroused but generally find that I do not get that natural hard erection.

I do not smoke, but I am an occasional drinker. I drink more on weekends than on weekdays. I have been advised to exercise two to three times a week.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From the description of your problem, I suggest you do some tests.

  1. You should monitor your BP (blood pressure) and get yourself tested for hypertension.
  2. Blood sugar profiling.
  3. Lipid Profile.
  4. Penile doppler test.
  5. If all the tests are fine, we can start with a few basic exercises for your penis and medications only if needed.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
