Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 17-year-old male who weighs 80 kg and is 6 feet high. I cannot seem to achieve a full erection and cannot stay erect for very long. I also cannot fully retract the foreskin while erect and can while flaccid with some struggle. I have tried having sex before, but the foreskin got stuck behind the head of the penis, and I went flaccid. The erection problems seem to be within the past six months, and I have never been able to retract while erect fully. I am currently using steroid cream, and I have used Sildenafil and Tadalafil in the past. However, this problem is seriously affecting my sex life. Is there anything you can do to help this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. However, It is not common to have a poor erection at your age. If you have a poor erection, then we should evaluate that properly. First, you should get your serum testosterone test done to rule out any hormonal cause. Once that is ruled out, then the reason is most likely psychological. Drugs like Sildenafil can help. If you cannot retract the foreskin, this could be due to phimosis. You will require circumcision to correct this. It would help if you got an opinion of a surgeon for this. Thank you.
