This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old male suffering from an erection problem with low libido. I do not have a habit of drinking alcohol or smoking, and I am worried about sexual issues. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Erection problems and low libido can occur due to the following reasons.

  1. Stress due to work or family-related.

  2. Depression.

  3. Varicocele (enlargement of veins in the scrotal sac).

  4. Fear of failure (having one episode of Erectile dysfunction may make you feel you will end up the same forever).

  5. Low self-esteem (chronic masturbation).

  6. Homosexuality (not being attracted to the same sex).

  7. Religious constraints.

  8. Smoking and alcohol.

  9. Long-term illness such as cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other disease with long-term medication.

  10. Simple vitamin deficiency.

  11. Negative attitude towards your partner.

  12. Hormonal issues related to thyroid, low testosterone, and increased prolactin.

  13. Long-term drug usage.

  14. Diabetes (a condition occurring due to increased blood sugar levels) and hypertension (increased blood pressure).

I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Plan for regular exercise and a proper diet.

    1. List of exercises: basic exercises like Kegels, squats, yoga, running, or fast walking for five minutes.

    2. Missionary sex position: Planks, push-ups, mountain climber, glute bridges.

    3. Standing sex position: Bicep curls, pull-ups, jump squats.

    4. Doggy style: Jump squats, walking lunge.

    5. Cowgirl or the Girl on top move: Glute bridges, leg raises.

  2. Include strawberries, apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, garlic, and little chocolate in your diet.

  3. Ultrasound scrotum can help in diagnosing varicocele.

  4. Take tablets of Zinc and calcium supplements.

  5. Get a doppler penis, ultrasound pelvis, along with blood pressure, random blood sugars, free T3 (triiodothyronine) T4 (thyroxine), testosterone, and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels.

  6. For a temporary solution, tablet Tadalafil 5 milligrams twice a day can be taken.

  7. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

Provide me with the details of the reports to diagnose better.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
