Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life and have finally gotten myself into a relationship. But at the moment, I have found it very hard to keep and obtain an erection. I have stopped masturbating, but still, I feel no desire to have sex or masturbate (and when I try to get erect the erections are rubbish). I have stopped watching porn and looking at soft porn, but it is hard. Kindly advice.

Hello,

Welcome to the icliniq.com.

The most common cause of erectile dysfunction is psychological. The anxiety and depression can affect your erection as brain control the erection. So you have to treat your anxiety by counseling and medication. Yoga and meditation are also beneficial. With six to eight month of medication intake, and by counseling, your depression can be treated.

For that, you need to consult a psychiatrist for counseling. Moreover, you have to rule out hyperlipidemia, prostate problem, hypertension, spinal problem, etc., by history and physical examination. It is advisable to check your testosterone and prolactin as well. I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
