Hi doctor,

I am 24 year old male. I have a habit of masturbation for about nine years. Now, it has became a habit for me. I have started doing it compulsively for about five to six years. I masturbate as frequently as thrice a day every day. Now, my head is programmed to wank at any time when I am alone. I feel exhausted, and I want to stop the habit or to minimize the frequency of doing it. How can I do it? Please advice.

I can understand your concern and masturbation is a safe habit. It does not result in weakness or physical fatigue. But excessive masturbation results in significant loss of time that is spent on sports or in studies. This progressively results in poor health and poor performance in academics. There is no need to stop it completely, but you should reduce the frequency.

There is no medicine available to help you. You have to reduce the frequency gradually. First of all, stop watching or reading porn materials. Try to masturbate by fantasies, and it helps to reduce the severity. When you stop watching porn entirely, you can reduce the frequency to two and then to one.
