Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am concerned about my right eye. While touching my eye socket and eyebrow bone, I have an uncomfortable feeling. I have tried applying warm compresses and anti-bacterial eye drops. But nothing helps me. It has been three days now. I do not have any redness or discharge or swelling. But when I touch it, I have slight pain and an uncomfortable feeling. But my eye looks normal. What to do?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Frontal sinuses are located just above the orbit of the eyeball. Tenderness on pressing eyebrows indicates sinusitis. Please mention whether you had a cold or a blocked or stuffy nose recently. This is the most common reason for having sinusitis. Have a steam inhalation thrice a day for few days. If it does not help you, you need to consult a doctor for doing an X-ray or CT (computed tomography) scan of paranasal sinuses. The other causes of eyeball tenderness are inflammation inside the eyes or glaucoma. Inflammation can cause red eyes or disturbed vision. You are too young to have glaucoma but still, it needs to be ruled out.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
