Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old. From the age of 6, my eyebrows have been very sparse and thin. They used to be irritated a lot and extremely red a lot of the time. Then, when I was 13 I went to a dermatologist, got prescribed Dermovate cream, and was told to use it for 3 weeks. However, this did not work in the long term. Now my eyebrows are still a bit red and they have small bumps and they are very thin. I would like to get rid of the redness and hopefully heal the skin so that my eyebrows can grow out fully. I use the Dermovate cream as it seems to help, however, the skin around my eyebrows is always very white after I use it.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

It seems to be seborrheic dermatitis. Instead of Dermovate (Clobetasol) which is a steroid you can use Pimecrolimus or Tacrolimus gel. You will have the same effect with no side effects like whitening. For thickening the eyebrow you can try Minoxidil drops. But use it only after the redness clears off totally. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and use medications with their consent.

Thank you.
