Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had unprotected sex before a year and experienced a freshness in the mouth. After a month I have had lower back pain and neck pain. I have occassional sore throat, deposition of a white layer over the tongue, and tiny eruptions below the tongue. I clean it using the tongue cleaner. I do not have abnormal weight loss. What are the tests to be taken for STDs (sexually transmitted disease)? Should I be concerned about HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your signs and symptoms are suggestive of acute HIV syndrome. Features of HIV are fever, weakness, joint pain, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, painful swellings on the body, anorexia, weight loss, and oral ulcers. Take ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), and VDRL (venereal disease research laboratory) test. Follow up with the reports.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I did the tests and got negative results. Please explain about my lower back pain, neck pain, dry skin, and dull face. My doctor prescribed me tablet Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavulanate, tablet Paracetamol, and multivitamin tablets. After taking the tablets I felt better. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From the reports attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), your results are negative. But repeat the tests after three months. Always use protective measures during intercourse. Use sunscreen creams for your skin. Consume vitamin C rich fruits like oranges and gooseberries. I suggest (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) you to use Clearz Plus cream for face at night. Continue your medications. Consult a physician for body ache.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
