Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been married for some years and do not have children yet. I feel very uncomfortable and irritated while having sex and do not like to have sex. Therefore, I do not want to have a child. In all these years of marriage, we never had proper sex, and I feel I am cheating on my husband. Whenever we have sex, or someone tells me about having a child, I go into some depression and start to cry. I have been thinking of divorce to lead a single life for some time. Kindly suggest a way to come out of this and lead a happy family life.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It can be because you or your close friends or relatives have had a bad experience with sex. Sex is part of life for all living animals, including humans. It has many benefits like better bonding between husband and wife and can improve overall mental and physical health. It appears that your partner is a good man cooperating with you, and a family is not complete without children. I presume that you are otherwise healthy. But try to appreciate and understand that sex is pleasurable, especially if you like your partner.

I suggest you get the following tests done.

  • Hemoglobin level, complete blood count, and CRP (c-reactive protein)
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone.
  • Fasting blood sugar
  • Serum albumin.
  • Serum creatinine.
  • Routine urine examination.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
