Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The upper half of my finger has been hurting badly. I did not hit my finger on anything, but I bite my fingernails. I think I might have an infection, but I am not sure. I have not taken any pills or medication for it but have attempted to treat it. I had put some Hydrogen Peroxide and a bandaid on it half an hour ago. I am a 16-year-old girl. My height is five feet and five and a half inches, and my weight is 148 pounds.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please relax as there is nothing to worry about. It might be hurting badly due to local inflammation. Just apply ice over the finger as it will help reduce the inflammation. I suggest you take the tablet Diclofenac 50 mg twice a day for three days. If it does not improve, you will have to take antibiotics.

Thank you.
