Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old female suffering from excessive flatulence after my evening meal. I experience chronic flatulence every day in the evening. Sometimes the flatulence is foul-smelling. Blood tests, thyroid tests, and stool samples have come back normal. I have tried peppermint capsules, probiotics, and charcoal tablets, but nothing has reduced my flatulence. I have also tried the low FODMAP diet and cutting out lactose and gluten.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Your stool reports are normal; hence, it seems to be a functional bowel problem. However, if you are taking excess stress or anxiety, such problems can also occur. Eating too fast, high fatty foods, smoking, eating excess carbonated drinks, etc., are some of the causes.

So try to reduce stress if having and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
