Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am inquiring about bumps on my legs (specifically shins) that itch so bad and are always there. Sometimes more than others but always there. It looks like the skin is red and raised around my hair follicle. Is there an over-the-counter cream or moisturizer or soap, etc., that I could use to prevent irritation? Could it be something else entirely? Unfortunately, I am just not one of those people that can live with hairy legs. What to do?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case. Yes, these are folliculitis (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and occur when small hair is growing especially when hair removing is not done in a proper direction. When you have a lesion, then mix Fucidin and Hydrocortisone creams in equal amount and apply on red lesions. For prevention, keep your leg well moisturized by applying any oil or lotion and apply only in one direction. Do not rub.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
