Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A year ago, I have developed sudden severe allergies to foods. Apples and almonds cause itchy, uncomfortable feeling in the throat, difficulty in swallowing and breathing and coughing. Bananas cause nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. Nectarines, peaches, plums and pears cause swelling and hives on and around the lips. I have always eaten such fruits before. These allergies developed only in the past one year and the symptoms worsen with time. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. food allergy arise when the immune system overreacts to certain foods, a response designed to safeguard the body against potential threats. Managing these allergies effectively involves steering clear of the triggering foods, as their effects can range from mild to severe, occasionally culminating in life-threatening anaphylactic reactions. In such critical instances, Ephedrine (Adrenaline) serves as the initial course of action, capable of potentially saving lives. Physicians might recommend an Ephedrine autoinjector, along with instructions on its usage, as a precautionary measure.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
