Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I suffer from sinus issues. I have a feeling of something stuck in my upper right palatoglossal arch. When I apply pressure at certain tension areas on the right side of my neck or stick my finger there, the feeling disappears for a few seconds. Sometimes, I feel like a slight pressure release from my right ear, which is odd because I have no issues with my ears. I do not experience blood, coughing, sore throat, vomiting, nor pain. Just the feeling of something there. When I drink cold fluids, I have a constant feeling of clearing mucus. Recently, I found out that my optic nerves are swollen. Any insight into what this might be?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This abnormal sensation on one side of your throat can be a result of a reflux problem. Acid reflux also presents as a burning sensation in the stomach and chest. It is also presented as a bitter taste in the throat when waking in the morning. Nasal and sinus issues can reflect middle ears pressure changes. Avoid ice cold drinks, and drink warm fluids.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have to sniff quite hard or draw up mucus in my throat to clear the feeling and to clear draining in my throat throughout the day. I do not recall having heartburn issues or bitter taste, or reflux problems. Would the issues be more sinus related?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The problem of recurrent mucus in the throat can result from nasal and sinuses allergic reactions, especially when the mucus is watery or white. I advise you to try intranasal corticosteroid spray as Avamys spray once daily. It can prevent the formation of mucus.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
