Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have read that cracked skin is a symptom of genital herpes. But I searched to find a picture or an example of what this cracked skin would look like and have found nothing. Could you explain what this would look like? And would these cracks become permanent or how long would they take to heal? I have had sore legs that occur and disappear in the groin area.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If possible forward few pictures of the affected area to guide you through precisely.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached files. I am having this problem for more than a month.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I saw your pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Your concern is not herpes. It can be balanitis because the foreskin is cracked. The skin gets irritated due to excessive washing with soap or over examining it or anything that lowers our immunity like stress overthinking will flare normal candidial fungus present on the skin. Start using any mild cleanser like Cetaphil for washing or cleansing the genitals and use Lulifin (Luliconazole) antifungal cream until skin settles down. Genital herpes will present as multiple small vesicles which clears within a week leaving behind multiple tiny scars but no cracks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
