Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 years old and have complaints of lingering bad smells and minimal colored vaginal discharge. I am not that sexually active because I am too embarrassed by the smell. I get a minimal pale yellow-white-clear discharge. I need some answers, I have tried over-the-counter yeast infection treatments over and over, and I keep getting them. I thought maybe it was a BV infection and got myself a prescription, and it came back. The smell lingers on typically when I am sitting for extended periods of time, but it is so embarrassing. All I want is something that works. When I go to the bathroom, I do not feel enough to feel it in my garments, but I can smell them anytime I stand up or sit cross-legged. It is more of a sweaty urine smell than anything. People notice, and I am so upset. I am on medication Escitolapram. I have never had this problem, but my mom and my sister both get yeast infections very frequently. I have taken BV antibiotics for this complaint and underwent laboratory testing a few days back. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

Your symptoms are suggestive of vaginitis, and it is mainly due to a fungal infection.

Following are my suggestions for your condition:

  • Keep the area dry and clean, drink a lot of warm water, and consume a soft diet.
  • Use antifungal medicine and cream for application.
  • You have to eat less sugar and more curd in your diet.
  • Get your blood sugar and pap smear test to see the cause of your symptoms.
  • Get your STD (sexually transmitted diseases) panel. Some sexually transmitted diseases have other modes of transmission as well.
  • Use antifungal powder for the same.

Hope this information found useful.

Feel free to ask for more information.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a brand that you recommend? Can I get the cream at a pharmacy?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You can use Candid-B (Beclometasone and Clotrimazole) cream. Candid powder (Clotrimazole and talc) can also be used.

Hope you found it useful.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
