Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am worried about my urge to urinate frequently, which is atleast twice in 20 minutes. I have held pee many times previously as I got pleasure doing that. But now, it has led to urine urgency. What could be the reason for my urge to urinate, and what could be done to stop this?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suspect you have a condition called the overactive bladder in which there will be frequent and sudden urges to urinate even when the bladder is a little or half-filled. I suggest you get an ultrasound abdomen with PVR (post-void residual) urine test and a urine routine to rule out urinary tract infection. Also, start with tablet Roliten (Tolterodine tartrate) 2 mg once a day for one week and revert with the test reports.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Please guide me on when I should start taking the tablet prescribed, and will there be any side effects?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can start taking the tablet at the earliest. It can sometimes cause dryness of the mouth as a side effect.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
