Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am experiencing frequent urination, with slight burning in the urine, and I had a few days of sex. I am confused about whether it is pregnancy or urine infection or normal. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case and I understand your concern. According to your description, this is looking like a urinary tract infection. After being sexually active there is quite a possibility of getting a urinary infection. Burning micturition is not a sign of pregnancy, in your case, there is very less chance of getting pregnant. If you only had sex around your ovulation day which usually occurs around the 14th day of the menstrual cycle, otherwise no chance of getting pregnant. To rule out urinary infection please do a urine routine microscopy test. So we can start proper antibiotics accordingly. Till then have plenty of water, at least three liters per day, and use condoms during intercourse until the infection persists. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
