Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having frequent urination problems (urine every 30 to 40 minutes and not satisfied post-void) for a month. My kidney function tests, blood sugar level, prostrate size everything is normal. My pelvic ultrasound showed mild urine post-void retention of 0.83 fl oz and mucosal prominence was noted measuring 3 to 4 mm in thickness. Kindly advise me on an ayurvedic medicine. I read about Chandraprabha vati and Bangshil. Let me know what is to be recommended. And Gogshuradi Guggulu is a diuretic so I will not prefer that.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your case history. You have mentioned kidney function test, blood sugar level and prostrate size is normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity), even then you get frequent urination. See, only above mentioned causes are not responsible for frequent urination. Incomplete void due to any reasons like the thickness of bladder sphincters or nerve conduction defects, infection, and inflammation in the urinary tract are also responsible for such conditions. Excess consumption of alcohol, use air-condition are also causes of frequent urination.

Treatment plan

As you mentioned some Ayurvedic medicines name like Chandraprabha Vati, Bangshil and Gokshuradi guggulu are very potent and effective medicines in urinary system disorders. Gokshuradi guggulu works as diuretic but it also helps to remove the cause of retention of urine. So as per your present case history and investigation reports you should go through following medications. 1. Chandraprabha Vati (Chandraprabha, Vachu, Musta) one tablet + Kanchanara guggulu (Kanchanar, Haritaki, Bibhitaka) one tablet thrice a day with honey after meals. 2. Varunadi Kasayam (Karanja, Putikaranja, Agnimantha) one and half table spoon twice a day with equal amount of water after meals. 3. Neeri syrup (Gokshura, Daruharidra, Sahadevi) two teaspoons twice a day before food.

Preventive measures

Avoid spicy and fried junk foods. Quit smoking and drinking if you have these habits. Avoid cold drinks, soft drinks, ice-cream, etc. Avoid to use air conditioner.

Regarding follow up

Do these things and provide your valuable feedback after fifteen days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
