It may be due to irritation, allergies, or fungal infections. Maintaining hygiene is essential. Do not use harsh soaps or shampoo, or dyes. Take antihistamines like Cetirizine if you feel too itchy. Consult your dermatologist for further examination and management if it persists or worsens.

Hello doctor,
Around 2 months ago, I texted you about some rash, and you were right; it was a fungal infection.
I was prescribed topical cream Travocort and oral pills Fluconazole 150 mg. Everything disappeared, but Fluconazole had a bad effect on me. I had muscle pain, yellow stools, chest pain, and chills while taking the pill. I was supposed to take 4 pills once a week, and I realized I had side effects from the pill after the third one, so I did not get the 4th and last pill. Do you think it did not kill the virus? My girlfriend also has dry skin on her head, and she feels itchy too. By the way, do you think this can be some STD like HIV or Syphilis? It does not look like that, but I am so confused about what this can be.
Kindly help me regarding the same.

Fungal infections can be transmitted by simple contact. It does not appear due to any STD or HIV, or Syphilis. Fungal infections are known for recurrence. Many antifungal medications do not fully kill them. You can consult your doctor for a thorough examination and management for you and your girlfriend. If you experienced some side effects, other antifungal prescription medications may be given. It is better to treat both person simultaneously. Otherwise, it keeps on recurring or getting transferred to the other person. Do contact again in case of more queries.
