Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have fungal infection between my thighs and buttock. Also, on the left side, hip areas with big black dark lesions, and on the right side, it is getting started. I saw red lines on the borders, and I used some over-the-counter creams. However, it is not working, and in turn, it is just spreading. In addition, I saw a small dark ring on my back and left-hand elbow. I have had this problem for around seven to eight months. I have seen a dermatologist and taken medicine. But the infection comes again, and now it is spreading. I am sick of this, and I am losing my confidence. I was prescribed a few medicines like Kezz (Ketoconazole), but nothing helped. Kindly help me get rid of this infection.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is extensor psoriasis with superficial fungal infection. I suggest you to follow the below-mentioned instructions. Apply Liquid paraffin lotion in the daytime for 15 days, Physiogel Hypoallergenic (calming relief lotion) lotion at night for 15 days, or Moyzen liquid (White soft paraffin and Liquid paraffin) twice daily for 15 days in the areas of scale. Keep a check on sugar levels. Bath daily with Ketoconazole soap for one month or Dersil-AF (Ketoconazole) body wash. Apply Candid TV lotion (Clotrimazole and Selenium Sulfide), an anti-fungal lotion, for one month, 20 minutes before bath. Use Azac soap (Azelaic acid and wheat germ oil) for a bath after one month of using KZ (Ketoconazole) soap. Avoid activities that cause sweating. Wear loose, comfortable, and thin cotton clothes. Avoid friction or occlusion. Avoid scratching or rubbing the lesions as they may cause secondary bacterial infection. Maintain proper hygiene. Keep nails short. Get a Complete blood workup done. Also, kindly answer the questions for a few details. Are you hypertensive or diabetic? Kindly share the history of medications that you take? Do you take pain killers or anti-hypertensives? Do you have a history of emotional trauma or stress? Does anyone in the family have an autoimmune disorder? Does the itching aggravate during winter or summer? Kindly follow up with the reports. Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Are there any oral drugs for fungal infection? Based on your questions. My mother is a diabetic. And, yes, I am stressed and showing anger to my wife and kids. I am losing my confidence slowly. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. Stay happy and relaxed. Avoid fights in the house. Stress, anxiety, worry, and tension are the factors that aggravate Psoriasis. I suggest you to take tablet AF-400 (Fluconazole) immediately or tablet Fluconazole 150 mg after breakfast for three days. And, follow the instructions mentioned below. Maintain proper hygiene, like changing bed sheets or pillow covers every alternate day. Iron clothes after drying the washed clean clothes. Avoid exposure to dust, pollutants, and pollens. Avoid contact with mites, pets, airborne allergens, and harsh detergents. Kindly follow up after ten days. Thanks and regards.
