Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a skin infection in the thighs area. The previous doctor did give me an ointment and I did get rid of it somewhat. But I am in a new place right now and the infection has held me again. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please attach a picture of the lesion for details. Is it itching, burning, pain, or irritation?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Not always, but sometimes when I do some exercise and sweat, it does itch somewhat. My previous doctor prescribed me some ointments (Ketoconazole cream), which I have attached here. By applying them, the infection was almost gone, and the dark patches had almost faded. However, now they have returned. I have been struggling with this for a long time. Please prescribe a solution to my problem.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Stop using Dermiflox (a combination of Beclomethasone, Ketoconazole and Neomycin) cream. Steroid use in fungal infections (Clobetasol) can worsen fungal infections. This appears to be tinea incognito. Please use Luliconazole cream twice daily for 15 days, take tablet Widcet (Cefuroxime) 5 mg twice daily for 14 days (if experiencing itching), and take tablet Terbinafine 250 mg once a day for 15 days. Have you had any history of scratching or rubbing the lesions? Do you experience excessive sweating? Do you wear tight clothing? Do you maintain proper hygiene? Are the conditions often moist and humid? Keep the area dry, as a moist environment encourages fungal growth. You can add neem leaves or an antiseptic liquid to your bathwater. Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes to prevent sweating, and use warm water instead of hot water. Maintain proper hygiene.

Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Do I need those tablets, or will the cream be sufficient? Also, I do not scratch much.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Avoid scratching because it can lead to secondary bacterial infections. Use Luliconazole cream twice daily for 15 days. Follow up after 15 days, and then we will decide whether or not to take a tablet.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you again for your time; I greatly appreciate it.

As you prescribed earlier, I used Luliconazole cream for some days, but there is no change in the infection. There is still no irritation or pain. The issue is that the dark patch has not gone away. So, I visited a doctor nearby who prescribed me some medication (attached) and a cream. However, the cream contains Clobetasol. Should I stop using the cream? What about the tablets he prescribed?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Steroids often cause the aggravation of symptoms (such as Clobetasol). This might be steroid-induced tinea (Tinea incognito). You can use a cream that is both antifungal and antibacterial. Avoid Clobetasol (a steroid). Is there a history of using steroids on the lesions in the past? Are the lesions itchy?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you again for your time; I greatly appreciate it.

No, the lesions are not itchy. Are the tablets the doctor prescribed safe to take? What should I do now? Can you prescribe anything else or offer any advice? Please answer in one message.

Hi,

Glad to have you back!

I am here to help you get the best medical advice.

I understand your concern.

The tablets given above are for itching or allergies. They are safe to use. You can use a cream without Clobetasol (antifungal or antibacterial). If there is no itching, the infection has been treated, and there is only hyperpigmentation. You can take the tablets (if experiencing itching). Use Sertaconazole or Luliconazole or Terbinafine cream twice daily for 15 days (if itching). Apply any skin lightening cream at night for 20 days (for hyperpigmentation). You can also use Kojic acid containing soap for bathing.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
